Tyrese Haliburton is out for the season, but he’s still maximizing his impact from the bench. The Indiana Pacers star is set to spend the year on the sidelines recovering from an Achilles injury. However, Haliburton continues to be wholesome, as seen from his latest gesture toward his young Pacer teammate.

The Pacers beat the Sacramento Kings on Monday night, and Hali turned up to the game in a Johnny Furphy jersey. Furphy is in his sophomore NBA season with the Pacers, and it was his birthday on Monday night. Haliburton turned up wearing his jersey on the bench to support him, which is a lovely move.

Furphy is yet to establish himself in the Pacers’ rotation despite their devastating injury issues this season. His number of minutes played per game has gone up as compared to his rookie year, but his production hasn’t. Furphy averages 2.0 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.

When young stars are still getting used to the league, support from the franchise superstar can make a huge difference. Tyrese is showing his value to the organization as their leader. While this season is likely to be a wash without Hali on the court, it’s a good opportunity to continue building the culture.

Despite Hali proving his value off the court, the Pacers will want him back as soon as possible. Next season, the hunt begins for Indiana and Tyrese to avenge their cruel loss in the 2025 NBA Finals.
