It has been a disappointing start to the season for the Los Angeles Clippers as they currently find themselves sitting 14th in the Western Conference standings with an abysmal 6-18 record.
Of course, Los Angeles had high expectations entering the season behind their core led by Kawhi Leonard, James Harden and Ivica Zubac, along with some key additions they made in the offseason of Brook Lopez, Chris Paul and John Collins.

Unfortunately for the Clippers, their new-look roster has not worked out thus far and some of their key additions have also not panned out as they sent Paul home and took Lopez out of their rotation.
Because of this, Los Angeles may elect to make some major moves at the trade deadline in February to try and turn their season around and one player they could target is Dallas Mavericks star big man Anthony Davis.
Clippers Could Show Interest in Anthony Davis if Mavericks Look to Move Him
For Davis, his name has been in trade rumors this season with the Mavericks currently sitting 11th in the West with a 9-16 record and some around the league believe they may look to move him ahead of the trade deadline.

If that is the case, the Clippers may be a team to watch as they could try to pair Davis alongside Leonard, Harden and Zubac to try and help turn their season around and chase a title.

In a potential trade, the Clippers could send Collins, Lopez, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Derrick Jones Jr. and multiple first-round picks to the Mavericks in exchange for Davis, D’Angelo Russell and Dante Exum.

Of course, this would be a risky move for the Clippers to make due to Davis’s injury history, especially with them having to give up key pieces of their roster which could hurt their depth.

Despite this, adding Davis to their roster could make the Clippers into a title contender if they are able to figure other issues out throughout the rest of the season.
For Davis, he is an elite scorer and defender who could fit well inside next to Zubac, allowing him to play the forward position rather than center.

This season, the 32-year-old big man is averaging 19.6 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.6 blocks per game while shooting 52.3% from the field and 33.3% from three.

Los Angeles would also add a solid backup point guard in Russell who would provide them with another solid scorer and playmaker off the bench or they could even start him alongside Harden in the backcourt.
While this trade could work out well for the Clippers, they may elect to hold off due to their disappointing start to the season, along with Davis’s injury history.
