DETROIT LAKES — Moorhead cruised past Detroit Lakes 92-57 in nonconference Minnesota boys basketball on Saturday.

The Spuds led 56-27 at halftime. Austin Dryburgh paced the Spuds with 18 points. Romeo Kromah had 17 points and Jett Feeney added 16.

DGF falls to Thief River Falls

THIEF RIVER FALLS — Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton was defeated by Thief River Falls 90-38 in Minnesota Section 8-2A girls basketball on Thursday night.

Moorhead eases by Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, Minn. — Moorhead flourished offensively in a 8-1 win over Alexandria in Minnesota nonconference boys hockey on Thursday at Runestone Community Center.

Moorhead led 4-0 after two periods. Forwards Zac Zimmerman and Tyden Bergeson both netted two goals. Evan Wanner, Brandon Mickelson, Joey Cullen and Will Cullen also scored for the Spuds.

Brody Berg had the lone goal for Alexandria on a power play. Moorhead netminder Nolan Cook stopped 15 of 16 shots faced, while Alexandria’s Brady Schluter had 33 saves.

Devils Lake outlasts Sheyenne

WEST FARGO — Devils Lake outdueled West Fargo Sheyenne 5-4 in North Dakota East Region boys hockey on Thursday.

The Firebirds buried two goals in the third period to grab a 5-3 lead. Nash Riggin scored on a power play and Thomas Leevers also scored. Sheyenne’s Charlie Ysteboe trimmed the lead to one goal at 13:29 in the frame.

Sheyenne’s Wyatt Mattson, Bennet Benson and Taylor Zander also scored. Devils Lakes’ Weston Nelson scored twice and Carson Hogness added another.

Mustangs goaltender Cruz Fitzpatrick had 31 saves, while the Firebirds’ Matt Graue stopped 26 of 30.
