Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry continues to turn heads with jaw-dropping shots from all over the arena, and more recently, by setting a record previously held by one of the NBA‘s greatest ever to lace up basketball shoes.
On Friday night, Curry put up another of his impressive performances, as his Warriors took on the Minnesota Timberwolves. Curry recorded 39 points on 14-for-28 shooting, which included him knocking down six threes and five free-throw shots. ]
Add in five rebounds and five assists, and the Golden State superstar did all he could to help his team win. Unfortunately, Minnesota surged ahead and won the game in the fourth quarter, 127-120, despite Anthony Edwards being absent from the Wolves’ lineup.

However, an impressive bit of NBA history also occurred, putting the Warriors’ superstar back into the spotlight once again.

According to the NBA, it was the 94th game in which Curry had 35 points since turning 30. According to their data, Curry surpassed the legend himself, Michael Jordan, who previously held the record with 93 games.
Along with announcing the historic feat, the NBA included a highlight reel showing off Curry’s shots from all over the court. Curry dazzled with his arsenal of moves and shots, including fancy dribbling, floaters in the lane, scoop layups, and treys from at least a foot or two away from the three-point line.
Friday evening marked Curry’s return to the court, as he last appeared in a game on Nov. 26. Draymond Green missed Friday’s game. Golden State, having Curry back in the lineup, gives them a fighting chance in each game.
Despite his 39 and 15 points from Jimmy Butler and Quinten Post’s 16, the Warriors couldn’t maintain a lead in the fourth as three Timberwolves, including Julius Randle and Rudy Gobert, had 21 points or more.
While Steph most likely loves breaking records, the most essential matter at hand is winning. His Warriors dropped to 13-13 after the Wolves defeated them on their home court. The team sits in eighth in the Western Conference but will need to find its winning ways to continue competing with some of the conference’s upper-tier teams.
