The week of December 8 was a relatively quiet one for the NBA on NBC, as holiday programming took over much of the broadcast time, but NBC Sports is back in full force for the week of December 15, and it all starts on Peacock NBA Monday.

What to know about the Pistons vs. Celtics Peacock NBA Monday game on December 15
This is the third matchup in a four-game series between the Pistons and Celtics this season, and each team has already won one game, making this a chance for either team to gain the upper hand in this particular Eastern Conference showdown. On paper, the Pistons would seem to be the better team here. They’ve got a better scoring average, they’ve won more games, and they do almost as well on the road as they do at home. Leading scorer Cade Cunningham is also one of the best passers in the NBA right now, giving the Pistons offense a flow that’s tough to beat, and has so far been good enough to put them at the top of the East’s Central Division.
But the Celtics are a formidable force, and the Garden remains one of the best home court advantages in the NBA. Under the leadership of top scorer Jaylen Brown, Boston has done just fine for themselves while All-Star Jayson Tatum sits out with an injury, putting together solid win streaks only occasionally punctuated by losses. They’re second in the Eastern Atlantic division just behind the Knicks, and they’ve got the third-best defense in the NBA right now. It might be a close one, and the Pistons could definitely pull out a win, but it feels a bit like the Celtics’ game to lose right now.
