What do we think of the Boston Celtics ahead of the unofficial start to NBA trade season? With a large number of the contracts that were signed by players around the league about the become trade eligible tomorrow, on Dec. 15, we may begin to see some of the first moves being made by ball clubs around the Association as what each of those ball clubs need becomes clearer, whether it’s a big man, a guard, a wing, draft assets, or cap relief.
And there are cases to be made that Boston could use any of the above after a significant talent exodus in the 2025 offseason saw Al Horford, Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis, and Luke Kornet exit the team via trades or free agency. Add in that the Celtics are playing much better than many expected after seeing the depth of that exodus, and Boston could very well be buyers this trade season — or sellers if the offer is right.
The hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” podcast, Jack Simone and Sam LaFrance, took some time on a recent episode of their show to talk it over. Check it out below!
