Denver Nuggets star Jamal Murray has been exceptional this 2025-26 NBA season. While he’s always been considered the second option to Nikola Jokic, the guard has leaped forward with his performance. He has a strong argument for being included in the All-Star game based on his performance this year.
He’s appeared in 23 games, averaging 24.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 6.9 assists. Murray has taken over games whenever Jokic and the Nuggets desperately need help. The All-Star Voting starts on Wednesday, and the Canadian star could attract plenty of votes.

Even if he doesn’t generate a lot of fan votes, however, coaches can vote for him to be part of the All-Star reserves. It would be a significant addition to his resume.

However, Murray isn’t thinking too much about making the All-Star team. After the Nuggets’ 128-125 overtime win over the Houston Rockets on Monday, he was asked about his thoughts on the potential votes he’d get.
“Nothing man. I’m just gonna keep playing my game and let everybody else vote,” Murray said.

He continued to show promise against the Rockets. The star guard had 35 points and five assists on 52.9% shooting from the field. Murray was the second-highest scorer in the game, adding to Jokic’s 39-point triple-double.
In the past, Murray has been ignored by fans in the All-Star Voting. The coaches have also failed to consider him as an All-Star reserve. Given the backcourt talent that the Western Conference has, the Nuggets star isn’t the only player who has been snubbed.

The league will also introduce a new format featuring a USA vs. The World concept. Murray is surely coming up as a strong contender to secure a spot on the international team’s roster.
