Why were the Boston Celtics meeting with top NBA draft prospect Cooper Flagg? With star Celtics forward Jayson Tatum out for much if not all of next season with a torn Achilles tendon and fellow Boston star forward Jaylen Brown potentially dealing with an extended absence due to a partially torn meniscus, there could be a big trade (or several) in the works for the team.
So when news broke that Boston sat down with the player pretty much universally projected to go No. 1 in the 2025 NBA draft, Flagg, had sat down with the Boston brass, a lot of speculation began to percolate up from the NBA media and fans of the team. Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens spoke to the media soon after, but can we expect him to tip his hand if something is in the works?
