NBC’s prime time lineup is so stacked this month that it’s kind of tough to fit it all in. Between holiday specials, Sunday Night Football, NBA basketball, and the big two-night Season 28 finale of The Voice, NBC’s holiday TV season is almost as stuffed as Santa’s magically cavernous gift sack on Christmas Eve.

How to Watch

Watch NBA on NBC on NBC and streaming on Peacock

The busy TV slate means there’ll be a few tweaks to regularly-scheduled NBC programming this week, including a momentary pause to the NBA on NBC’s typical Coast 2 Coast Tuesday game slate. It’s only temporary, though: Pro hoops action will be back in full effect when regular programming resumes next week. In the meantime, let’s take a look at how this week’s NBA on NBC schedule will be affected by all the holiday hustle and bustle.

Is there an NBA game on NBC tonight, Tuesday, December 16?

No, there is no NBA game on NBC (or Peacock) tonight, as NBC puts its typical Coast 2 Coast Tuesday NBA broadcast on pause to make room for tonight’s live Season 28 finale of The Voice

Featuring superstar live performances and the announcing of the musical talent competition’s newest winner, The Voice’s live finale airs tonight at 9 p.m. ET on NBC. Though it’s not the NBA, it is a pretty big deal in its own right — and you can scope the complete rundown of how it’s all set to unfold by clicking here!

Now let’s get back to some basketball. The NBA on NBC will return to its typical full weekly schedule next week, when the action picks up once more with back-to-back nights of hardwood hoops on Peacock NBA Monday (Monday, December 22) and Coast to Coast Tuesday (Tuesday, December 23).

Nest week’s Peacock NBA Monday slate features a December 22 doubleheader that tips off at 7 p.m. ET with an Eastern Conference contest between the Charlotte Hornets and Cleveland Cavaliers, followed by a 9:30 p.m. ET Western Conference matchup between the Memphis Grizzlies and Oklahoma City Thunder. Both games will stream live exclusively on Peacock, preceded as always by NBA Showtime — Peacock’s pregame NBA studio show — beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET.

On Tuesday (December 23), the doubleheader action resumes on NBC and Peacock, as the Denver Nuggets face the Dallas Mavericks in an 8 p.m. ET showdown on Coast 2 Coast Tuesday. In the late game, the Houston Rockets will head to Los Angeles to take on the LA Clippers, with tipoff set for 11 p.m. ET.
