The No. 1 team in women’s college basketball is back on the court on Wednesday, Dec. 17 for a matchup between a pair of teams that are 2-0 in Big East play as the UConn Huskies host the Marquette Golden Eagles at PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford, Conn.

UConn is 10-0 and coming off a 79-51 blowout victory over No. 19 USC in which Azzi Fudd had a game-high 17 points to go with four assists, three rebounds and a block. Sarah Strong continued to proive she can do everything on the court, going for 14 points, seven rebounds, three assists, three blocks and three steals while Ashlynn Shade chipped in 15 points, four assists, four boards and two steals and Blanca Quiñonez poured in 12 off the bench to go with four steals and a block. KK Arnold had six assists and three steals along with 7 points, and Serah Williams grabbed nine boards, swatted a pair of shots and got a steal to go with her 6 points.

Marquette is 7-3 and on a three-game winning streak following a two-game losing streak. The team last played on Sunday when it ran through Le Moyne, 89-42. Halle Vice and Lee Volker both had double-doubles with Vice scoring a game-high 23 while collecting 10 rebounds and dishing out four assists to go with one steal and one block. Volker had 11 helpers and 14 points along with a pair of steals while Skylar Forbes had 16 points, four boards, four dimes, three steals and a block. Off the bench, Jordan Meulemans added 15 points.
