Memphis Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant is listed as out with a left ankle sprain for the Dec. 22 game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Grizzlies (13-15) have eight players listed as out for the game (8:30 p.m., Peacock). Ja Morant, Brandon Clarke, Zach Edey, Ty Jerome, Scotty Pippen Jr., Vince Williams Jr., John Konchar and Javon Small are all out.

Clarke returned from a knee injury that had sidelined him for the first 26 games of the season on Dec. 17 against the Timberwolves. But he left the Grizzlies’ next game on Dec. 20 against the Wizards early in the first quarter with a calf injury and did not return. Clarke’s injury was listed as a right calf strain on the injury report.
Injuries have been a storyline throughout the season for the Grizzlies. Morant has missed half of the 28 games with various injuries, while starting center Edey has been out for most of the season with an ankle injury. Jerome and Pippen have yet to play this season.
The Grizzlies have had to get creative at the point guard position with Morant, Small, Jerome and Pippen all out. Williams has spent time there, as has Cam Spencer. Two-way guard Jahmai Mashack, who has been with the Memphis Hustle of the G League, could get playing time as well.
GG Jackson had been with Mashack in the G League, but he’s off the injury report and should be available against the Thunder. He’s played very sparingly this season.
