Kentucky Basketball may have just found its stride following a 78-66 victory over No. 22 St. John’s on Saturday in the CBS Sports Classic.
While the team’s success is incredibly reliant on the health of both Jaland Lowe (shoulder) and Jayden Quaintance (knee), the Wildcats had both on the floor for a majority of Saturday’s game, and that version of UK looked nearly unstoppable.
It’s fair to say Kentucky showed a lack of chemistry and rhythm against quality opponents to start the season, but they’ve beaten once-ranked Indiana and now St. John’s over the last two weeks — both with Lowe on the court facilitating the offense.
Maybe Kentucky just needed to get healthy and have its core group together to show just how good it can be.
On deck for Kentucky is an in-state matchup with Bellarmine on Tuesday, with tip-off scheduled for 1 PM ET and coverage on SEC Network Plus.
As for Kenny Brooks and the women’s basketball team, they’ve been on the cusp of top-10 status in the top-25 polls. Bart Torvik actually has the ladies ranked No. 8 in the country.
It’ll be the final game of the calendar year for Kentucky before they begin Southeastern Conference play at Alabama on January 3rd.
Heck of a lot of fun this season.
Feels like they have for the last 2-3 decades.
He was so impactful on Saturday.
Back to back weeks for KC QB ACL tears.
They’ll go as far as he takes them.
Such a magical season that came up just short.
Red Sox finally get a big bat.
