The Charlotte Hornets reached the 10-win mark on Tuesday with a 126-109 win against the Washington Wizards. Unfortunately though, the team looks destined to miss the postseason again this year. And that frustration might be what made LaMelo Ball almost start an NBA fight.

Players rarely get into full-blown physical altercations on the floor. However, Ball took exception to a hard foul from Washington’s Kyshawn George. And Melo had to be held back in the aftermath, he looked dead set on getting right into it.

Ball was driving hard to the basket when George essentially pushed him hard enough to have potentially caused injury. The clip went viral on social media and fans had a lot to say about it.

“Bro was ready to risk it all just to get back,” one fan wrote. “His teammate really saved him some embarrassment, that could have gotten ugly,” another said.

“Kyshawn didnt even check him hard, hello,” a third fan wrote. “I’m sorry, but Lamelo is the Jake Paul of the NBA,” a fourth claimed.

“Melo definitely would have stepped to him and did some dumb sh*t,” a fifth comment read. “The NBA needs to just let some dudes fight every once in a while man,” said a sixth fan.

Ball hasn’t been known to lose his cool often, but a foul like that can get to anyone. The viral moment instead became a reminder of the importance of level-headed teammates. And at the end of the day, the Hornets got the W, which is what matters most.
