Jaylen Brown has been having a season so good with the Boston Celtics, he is in legitimate contention for the 2026 Kia Most Valuable Player award after having cracked the top five players looking like they could win the honor this season. But for Brown, it has been his opportunity to lead the Celtics to a wildly successful start to their 2025-26 NBA regular season campaign while costar on the wing Jayson Tatum recovers from a torn Achilles tendon sustained in the 2025 NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals vs. the New York Knicks.

Speaking to that role after Boston’s 103-95 win vs. the Indiana Pacers on Monday (Dec. 22) night at TD Garden, the Georgia native said that it “means everything,” adding that it “has been my favorite season so far.”

“I’ve been able to get an opportunity to lead … a group of guys who some of us, we have some championship experience, but we have five or six new guys who haven’t really played NBA basketball.

“And now we look like one of the better teams in the league,” continued the Celtics star. “That’s just credit to our coaching staff and credit to our leadership that we’ve been able to get those guys comfortable.”

“We’re playing some good basketball right now, so it means everything.”
