South Carolina basketball’s two most recent NBA Draft picks put up strong performances last night in the NBA. Toronto Raptors forward Collin Murray-Boyles and Memphis Grizzlies forward GG Jackson played big minutes on Tuesday night and rewarded their teams.

In a win over the Miami Heat, Murray-Boyles posted his first professional double-double. Finishing with 11 points and 13 rebounds, he also added solid defense and an efficient shooting day, going 5-for-9 from the field. CMB finished with four stocks (steals + blocks) for just the second time this season. In what was the top matchup most of the night, he outscored and outrebounded NBA All-Star Bam Adebayo.

For the Grizzlies, Jackson earned a start in just his second game back from a G-League assignment. He put up 18 points and nine rebounds to lead Memphis in +/- during the team’s win over the Utah Jazz. Jackson went 7-for-9 from the field and looked like a player ready to contribute in a major role.

Murray-Boyles’ performance was the most well-rounded of his young career. The 2025 NBA Draft’s No. 9 pick has been an excellent defender this season, but the counting stats have been slower to come around for him. He is now averaging seven points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. Murray-Boyles has helped Toronto become the fourth-best overall defense in the NBA in terms of team defensive rating.

Jackson has split his season between the Grizzlies and the G-League Memphis Hustle. Tuesday was his first start of the year, and he set season-high marks in minutes, scoring, and rebounding. For the year, he is averaging just 4.4 points and 2.5 rebounds. However, those numbers could increase if he continues to play a bigger role.

Murray-Boyles and Jackson remain two high-ceiling young players in the NBA, and Tuesday’s performances could be significant steps along the way to them reaching their respective potential.
