Luka Doncic is officially questionable for Christmas Day against the Rockets with a lower leg contusion, according to ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel.

On Tuesday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers dropped a road game against the Phoenix Suns. This game marked the return of Austin Reaves after a brief injury absence, but Luka Doncic did not play as he recovers from a leg contusion suffered over the weekend against the crosstown rival Los Angeles Clippers.

Some fans have been wondering if that ailment might affect Doncic’s availability for the Lakers’ Christmas Day game against the Houston Rockets, and on Wednesday, they got their answer.

“Luka Doncic is expected to play on Christmas Day against the Houston Rockets. I’m told he’s undergoing a workout today, and as long as that goes smooth for him, he will return to the lineup,” reported ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania on X, formerly Twitter.

Doncic has been the head of the snake for the Lakers all year so far in 2025-26, currently leading the NBA in scoring by a wide margin and establishing himself as a frontrunner for the league MVP award.

The Lakers struggled in his absence over the weekend, losing games to the Clippers and Suns despite LeBron James putting up impressive stat lines in both contests.

The Lakers will now welcome in a Rockets squad that will be on the hunt for a win after dropping puzzling games against the Sacramento Kings and the Clippers in their last two contests.

In any case, the Lakers and Rockets are slated to tip off at 8:00 pm ET on Christmas night from Los Angeles. The game will be carried by ABC.
