A former Clemson big man is getting another crack at the NBA level.

PJ Hall is set to join the Charlotte Hornets on a two-way deal, giving the second-year pro a fresh opportunity after bouncing around earlier this season. Hall previously spent time on a two-way contract in Memphis but was let go in mid-November, sending him back to the G League grind.

That’s where he’s quietly put together a productive stretch. Across stops with Memphis’ and Greensboro’s G League affiliates, Hall has been a steady interior presence, averaging nearly 15 points and close to nine rebounds per game while also contributing as a passer and rim protector. His minutes have been consistent, and his numbers reflect a player who has stayed ready despite roster uncertainty.

Hall has now appeared in 26 NBA games over two seasons, seeing action with Denver last year and Memphis earlier this season. His time at the top level has been limited, but he’s remained on two-way radars thanks to his size, touch around the basket, and defensive activity.

Undrafted out of Clemson, Hall took a nontraditional route to the league after signing with Denver before last season. His college résumé, though, speaks for itself. He authored one of the most productive seasons in program history during the 2023–24 campaign, earning first-team All-ACC recognition, an AP All-American honorable mention, and setting Clemson’s single-season scoring mark. By the time he finished his career, he ranked among the school’s all-time leading scorers.

This deal gives Hall another chance to turn consistent G League production into a longer stay at the NBA level.
