Luka Doncic, Lakers’ Christmas video goes viral before Rockets clash appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.

On Thursday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers will hit the floor for a Christmas Day home game against the Houston Rockets in a clash of two Western Conference playoff teams. The Lakers will hope to have star Luka Doncic back in the lineup after a brief absence due to a leg contusion–Doncic is currently listed as questionable for the game, although ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania previously reported that he is expected to be available for the game.

On Christmas morning, the Lakers’ official team account on X, formerly Twitter, posted a video of some of their players setting up decorations around the team’s practice facility, and one of the featured clips showed Doncic nailing a three-pointer with a Santa Claus hat on.

Fans in the comment section certainly had thoughts.

“Love you Lakers but can we please get some defense wrapped under the tree. Thank you,” wrote one fan.

“Merry Christmas, let’s get this WIN!” added another.

Indeed, defense has been pointed to as a reason not to take the Lakers seriously as legitimate title threats in the Western Conference by some, as Los Angeles doesn’t have many (any?) players who are elite on both sides of the ball, whereas some of their counterparts in the conference have multiple players who fit that bill.

Still, Los Angeles has been impressive so far this season, currently sitting at 19-9, despite Doncic, Austin Reaves, and LeBron James all having missed time on the campaign.

In any case, all eyes will certainly be on Doncic, assuming he is able to play, for his first Christmas Day game in a purple and gold uniform on Thursday evening. The Lakers and Rockets are slated to tip things off at 8:00 pm ET from Los Angeles.

After that, the Lakers will next hit the floor on Sunday evening against the Sacramento Kings.
