Tarik Biberovic may be a forgotten name to some Memphis Grizzlies fans. To others, he’s simply a face they’re waiting to see play stateside.
Biberovic, who was taken 56th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, was stashed as a prospect. The 6-foot-7 wing continues to make a name for himself overseas while the Grizzlies control his NBA rights.

For fans interested in watching Biberovic, he’s currently playing for Fenerbahce Beko in the EuroLeague Final Four. His Fenerbahce squad will face Panathinaikos in a single-game elimination on May 23. The winner advances to the championship, while the loser will play in a third-place game.
For Grizzlies fans, it could be two opportunities to see Biberovic.
NBA in the future?
It’s still unknown when Biberovic will make the trip over to the NBA, but all signs point to him wanting to do so. The Grizzlies are currently expected to have a roster crunch with only three unrestricted free agents, but there is a route to getting the sharpshooter to Memphis.

Before the end of last season, Biberovic expressed his interest in wanting to play in Memphis but not in summer league. He played for the Grizzlies during 2023 summer league play after being drafted, but he didn’t have a major role.
The EuroLeague is widely regarded as the second-best league in the world behind the NBA, so whenever he arrives, he’ll be expected to be ahead of a typical post-college player.
Biberovic stats, scouting report
When the Grizzlies drafted Biberovic, he was seen mostly as a developmental player who was playing a reserve role. In the past two seasons, that has changed.
Biberovic is shooting 46.4% on 3-pointers in 57 EuroLeague games, and played 22.4 minutes per game this season, fourth-most on the team.

The names ahead of him aren’t exactly unknowns. Former Wisconsin basketball star Nigel Hayes-Davis and 2016 Grizzlies first-round pick Wade Baldwin are two of the players receiving more minutes than Biberovic.
Even though he’s only 24 years old, Biberovic is becoming a reliable player in clutch situations. He has been known to make big shots in big moments for Fenerbahce.
What’s next for Biberovic
Fenerbahce general manager Derya Yannier recently noted how Biberovic is gaining more NBA interest.
“I hope they continue with us, but if they say, ‘I want to try in the NBA,’ we won’t stand in (Hayes-Davis and Biberovic’s) way,” Yannier said in an interview with TRT Sports Star.

Biberovic’s current contract with Fenerbahce is believed to contain an NBA opt-out clause after each season. It should only be a matter of time before he gets a shot in the NBA.
