Suns center Mark Williams (knee management) is questionable ahead of Phoenix’s game at the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday, as Ryan Dunn (knee) is also questionable and Grayson Allen (knee management) remains out.
If Williams suits up, it would be his first time playing in both games of a back-to-back since Phoenix traded for him on draft night. His only four missed games of the season have come on the second night of a back-to-back.
Both of Friday and Saturday’s games being in New Orleans — so not having to factor in travel — could contribute to potentially playing in the matchup.
He has started 23 games, all of his appearances since coming off the bench his first three games when there was a ramp up during training camp.
Williams has averaged 13.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.4 steals and one block in 24.7 minutes per start.
He had 24 points, 13 rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes during Friday’s win. It was the most points he’s had in a Suns start (25 off the bench on Oct. 27) and the most rebounds since Nov. 28 (14).
Phoenix is 15-8 when he starts as opposed to 1-2 when he came off the bench and 1-3 when he doesn’t play.
Dunn had nine points and eight rebounds on Friday (21 minutes) before landing on the injury report with knee soreness. For Allen, it will be his fifth straight game missed.
