In case you’re still recovering from a holiday hangover, or simply don’t have access to the Big Ten’s streaming service, the Michigan Wolverines annihilated McNeese on Monday night by a final score of 112-71. Dusty May has his squad on an absolute role early in the season, with Big Ten play resuming on Friday at home against USC.

Speaking of the Big Ten, the Wolverines set a conference record in that game last night, becoming the first team in the conference to ever record six victories of 40 or more points in a single season.

Two things amaze me with this record outside of the record itself — it still reads “December” on my calendar, and Michigan did this in just 12 total games. That’s right: half of Michigan’s wins this season have been by 40 points or more.

Amazing.

And just to remind you of the dominance, here are the final scores of those six games:

Utter domination.

Michigan is 12-0 overall and 2-0 in Big Ten play following the latest beatdown. The Wolverines are No. 1 in essentially every metric out there — including KenPom and Torvik — and are No. 2 in the AP Poll by a slim margin to No. 1 Arizona, despite all those previously mentioned metrics and being favored by the oddsmakers to win the NCAA Tournament this year.

The best part — this team is just getting started. We’ll see if the Wolverines can keep this up on Friday night when USC comes to Crisler Center.
