The blue bloods don’t rebuild, they reload.

The Duke Blue Devils men’s basketball team received a commitment
on Tuesday from point guard Deron Rippey Jr.

“It means the world to have all these people here to support
me,” Rippey told CBS Sports’ Adam Finkelstein.

Rippey chose Duke over NC State, Miami, Tennessee and Texas.
The Blair Academy product in Blairstown, New Jersey, is the second-ranked point
guard prospect in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports.

247Sports has Rippey ranked as the 16th-best prospect in the 2026 class.

“This process has been very emotional,” Rippey said.

Rippey’s commitment gives Duke and head coach Jon Scheyer the No. 1 recruiting class for
2026, according to 247Sports. He joins Cameron Williams, Bryson Howard and Maxime
Meyer as part of Duke’s incoming class.

“I want to play at the highest levels, that’s always been my
dream when it comes to playing Division I basketball,” Rippey said.

Rippey said Duke was getting a “winner, competitor and
leader.”
