The Chicago Bulls have been waiting to see the roster at full strength to evaluate what to do moving forward. However, they will not be able to do so for some time as star guard Josh Giddey is going to be missing some time due to his injury. Chicago has been one of the teams heating up, winning six of their previous 10 games, but they are struggling to figure out how they will be going forward. Let’s take a deeper dive into the latest injury report for the star guard and what it means for the Bulls moving forward.

ESPN’s Shams Charania is reporting that Giddey has sustained a left hamstring strain, but did not address the grade strain. He continued to say that Giddey will miss “at least a few weeks.” This is brutal news for Giddey, who is off to one of his strongest starts in his NBA career. He has been one of the top passers in the sport as he is averaging 19.2 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 9.0 assists per game.

Giddey walked off the court within the first minute of the second half against the Minnesota Timberwolves with the injury. This will be a devastating blow for Chicago, who is still fighting for a play-in spot in a critical time of the season. With the NBA All-Star break approaching, do not be surprised to see the team be cautious about getting him back on the court. Giddey was 14th in the Eastern Conference in terms of the first fan vote for the All-Star Game, and now will likely miss it altogether due to this injury.

For the Bulls, this makes winning a lot more difficult as Giddey is one of the top players on the roster. Things are going to be intriguing to see how the front office addresses the team going forward, as this injury is a major blow for them.
