Anthony Edwards surpassed Kevin Garnett for first on the Wolves All-Time Playoffs points list.

Oklahoma City Thunder is unstoppable in the Western Conference Finals and took a commanding 2-0 lead in the series after a convincing 118-103 victory against the Timberwolves in Game 2. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was awarded his MVP honor before the game and the Canadian superstar celebrated it with a match-winning performance. Minnesota dropped a late comeback in the fourth quarter but it wasn’t enough to deny second straight defeat.
The NBA 2025 MVP, Gilgeous-Alexander led all the scorers with 38 points and 6 assists on 12-for-21 shooting. Jalen Williams went 12-for-20 and chipped in 20 points and 10 rebounds while Chet Holmgren added 22. The Thunder struggled in 3-point shooting but still controlled the game, thanks to another shooting slump from the Wolves.

Wolves Suffer Second Straight Loss Despite Fourth Quarter Comeback
It was a one-way traffic for the Thunder in Game 2 as they built a 59-50 lead at halftime, courtesy of a 13-5 run in the last four minutes of the second quarter. Gilgeous-Alexander outplayed Edwards in shooting as Wolves star was struggling with 38.9% shooting in first half.
During the third quarter, Anthony Edwards surpassed Kevin Garnett for first on the Wolves All-Time Playoffs points list and it was the only happy moment for the Wolves in the period as they were outscored by 35-21 in the quarter. The Thunder stretched their lead to 93-71 heading to the final quarter and Minnesota’s shooting struggles continues which got improved in the final period.

Thunder outscored the Wolves in third quarter in both games with a margin of 14 points: 32-18 in Game 1 and 35-21 in Game 2. It eventually made the difference in the game. The Timberwolves went on a 12-4 run spanning the end of the third and start of the fourth period, cutting the deficit to 16 points. Minnesota outscored Oklahoma City 32-25 but failed to defeat the top seed in the Western Conference.

The Timberwolves were shooting 11-of-39 from 3-point range and their star duo Edwards and Randle made just one 3 pointers out of 12 attempts. Edwards scored 32 points and 9 rebounds while Julius Randle managed only 6 points. McDaniels had a great night with 22 points on 8-for-15 shooting. Nickeil Alexander-Walker scored 17 points and Naz Reid chipped in 10 off the bench.

Oklahoma City also had a terrible 3-point shooting with 27.3% but they made half of the field goals. The Thunder are just two wins away to reach their first NBA finals since 2012. The series will now move to Minneapolis and one more loss can put the Wolves on the verge of elimination. It has been a one-sided series for the Thunder in the conference finals.
