Following a signature season win over the top seed Detroit Pistons on New Year’s Day, the Miami Heat are back home to host Anthony Edwards and the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves.

Miami is in the midst of an encouraging four-game winning streak and have improved to a 19-15 overall record. They are sitting at the sixth seed in the East and tied for fifth— along with being just a half game back of fourth; despite their tough losing stretch recently. The Wolves are also the sixth seed in the West at 21-13 overall.

Minnesota is coming off a loss to the Atlanta Hawks, but they have won six of their last 10 games. Edwards continues to lead the way as the Wolves superstar, averaging a career-high 29.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists on 50% shooting. Norman Powell will have his hands full trying to contain Edwards in the backcourt.

Speaking of Powell, he will be coming off his best performance of the season in the Heat’s win in Detroit. He dropped 36 points on 52% from the field and 7 of 14 from 3-point range, as the veteran guard continues to make his case for a first-time All-Star honors.
