Phoenix Suns‘ rookie Ryan Dunn has established himself as the team’s primary defender who plays hard, gives great effort and has a tremendous upside after just his first NBA season.
For that, Dunn received the team’s Dan Majerle Hustle Award, given to the player “who most personified the same hustle, grit and determination” Majerle displayed as a player.

Dunn averaged 6.9 points and 3.6 rebounds this past season in 74 games (44 starts). Phoenix landed Dunn out of Virginia late in the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft in a draft-day trade with the Denver Nuggets.

Grayson Allen (2024), Josh Okogie (2023) and Mikal Bridges (2021, 2022) are the previous three winners of the award.
Majerle, a Suns’ Ring of Honor inductee, played for Phoenix from 1988-95 and was part of the 1993 NBA Finals team that lost to the Chicago Bulls. He later played for Cleveland and Miami, before finishing his career with Phoenix in 2001-02.
