SALT LAKE CITY – The John Watson Northern Utah High School Player of the Week is celebrating the best high school basketball players in Northern Utah. Presented by John Watson Chevrolet in Ogden, each week we honor athletes for their exceptional performance on the gridiron. Our winners for week four of the season were Salote Tonga of Ogden High School and Karter Miller of Layton High School.

Northern Utah Players of the Week – Salote Tonga & Karter Miller

Salote Tonga and the Ogden Tigers tallied a pair of road wins over the holiday break. In a 40-37 victory at Juab she led the team with 15 points and followed it up with an additional 15 points in their 40-28 win at South Summit.

Karter Miller and the Layton Lancers notched a 3-1 record over the break. In a 71-56 win over Liberty (NV) he tallied 19 points, nine assists and five rebounds before adding 25 points, seven rebounds and six assists in a 75-71 victory over Palisades (CA). He then went for 26 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals in a 74-67 loss to Pleasant Grove and followed that with 14 points, seven assists and five rebounds in a 57-43 victory over Woods Cross.
