The Atlanta Hawks are completely remaking their team as they went on to trade their star player, Trae Young, to the Washington Wizards. Even with Young now on the Wizards, it has been rumored that the Hawks are still looking to trade with the Dallas Mavericks for Anthony Davis.
*Prediction*
For this to happen, the Hawks might also have to give up CJ McCollum who they just traded for in the deal with the Wizards for Young. This would further deplete their guard depth, something they can’t have happen. Instead, the Hawks could look to make another trade to get the ideal guard to help them get to where they want to go as a team.
The trade that the Hawks can look to make is with the Los Angeles Clippers for James Harden.

Los Angeles Clippers Trade James Harden to the Atlanta Hawks
The Los Angeles Clippers’ 2025 season has been one they wish they could forget as they currently sit with a 13-23 record, playing way below expectations. The Clippers aren’t going to be competing this season, and need to look to makes trades to better set their team up for the future, and one player they can trade that still have value is James Harden.
So far this season, James Harden has averaged 25.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per game, showcasing that even with being 36 years old, he is still playing at an impactful level. Harden has been playing in the NBA for 17 seasons, and with his playing experience, he would be ideal to come in and help a Hawks team that has talented players, but are young and still need help in their development.
The core of Jalen Johnson, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Dyson Daniels, Zaccharie Risacher, and James Harden all playing alongside each other would be ideal for the Hawks. They have the young stars, and adding Harden, who can help in their development with his leadership, as well as make an impact with his scoring and ability to help create open lanes, would immensely help propel the Hawks forward as a team.
