The Brooklyn Nets (11-24) have not been having the kind of performance in January that they were hoping for after showing how dominant they could be during December. Brooklyn is now on the road for the next few games, beginning with a matchup on Sunday at the Memphis Grizzlies (16-22) and if you’re wondering how you can watch all the action live, you’ve come to the right place!

The Nets come into this game following a 121-105 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday in which Brooklyn looked a step slow all game long while trailing by as many as 23 points. Rookie guard Egor Demin led the way for the Nets with 19 points and three assists while forward Michael Porter Jr. struggled to arguably his worst performance of the season to date.

The Grizzlies enter this matchup after a 117-116 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday in which Memphis did everything it needed to win the game until the fourth quarter where they let go of the rope. Forward Jaren Jackson Jr. finished the contest with 23 points and seven rebounds while forward GG Jackson had 18 points and two rebounds off the bench.

Advice and Prediction

The Nets have not been playing their best basketball so far in January and heading into this game, they will have to deal with the absence of Porter, arguably the engine of their entire offense. Whether Porter is in the lineup or not, Brooklyn still has to find a way to be better on the defensive side of the floor as they have given up at least 115 points to four of their last five opponents.

To be fair, the Grizzlies are dealing with plenty of injuries at the moment as well, including Morant missing his fifth straight game with his calf issue. More to the point, Memphis is now on their fourth point guard on the roster with Morant, Jerome, and Pippen out of the lineup. Cam Spencer has had to step up for the Grizzlies in the interim, but he is coming off a game against the Thunder where he compiled seven points and 11 assists.

The Nets and Grizzlies rank towards the bottom of the league in offensive rating, but the defensive side of the floor and the pace is where these two teams differ. Brooklyn is close to middle of the pack in defensive rating and towards the bottom of the NBA in pace while Memphis is one of the better defensive units and play at one of the fastest paces in the Association.

Prediction: Grizzlies 115, Nets 105
