All about Lamin: Speaking Dutch and exploring African roots

Tell something about you that most people don’t know.

Most people don’t know I speak another language: Dutch.

What has been your favorite vacation?

It’s when I went to Gambia with my family. It was really fun seeing my dad’s side of the family and where he grew up.

What is your most prized possession?

I’d say my most prized possession would be my basketball because I’ve played almost every day since seventh grade

What do you plan to do after high school?

I plan to become a therapist and play college basketball. I want to be therapist because I’ve always liked helping people talk out their problems. I want to be a therapist that helps people with their mental health.

What is your favorite high school basketball memory?

My favorite basketball  memory at Bowie would be being on the same team with Troy Stromberg. It was fun playing with Troy because we were always on the same page and I was always hanging out with him.

Do you have any pregame rituals?

I wouldn’t say I have a pregame ritual, but I stretch a lot before games.

Outside of sports, what do you like most about your school?

What I like most at school outside of basketball would be my friends because they’re the best people.

If you could have dinner with any four people in the history of the world, who would they be?

I’m going invite LeBron James, Vince Carter, Barack Obama and Samuel L. Jackson.

I chose LeBron because he’s the GOAT of basketball, but he does just as much off the court. I would ask questions about his life.

You’re in charge of the menu. What are you serving?

I’m serving sushi and pizza because those are my favorite foods.
