SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – MDC605 was invited to dance at a Minnesota Timberwolves game against the Chicago Bulls on January 22.
Jen Garry and Katelyn Trei with MDC605 joined Dakota News Now to tell u more.
“So, we do dance competitions all over the country. We were up in Minneapolis last year, and the Timberwolves recruiters were at the competition that we were at, and then reached out to us to perform,” said Garry.
“I’ll be honest. I’ve been teaching and coaching in Sioux Falls for over 40 years. Never have had this before, so I’m guessing it’s not common.”
“Performing on such a larger scale, you do kind of have to dive in and be like, ‘OK, what really needs to get done before this performance happens? Before we take the floor and are in front of an entirely different crowd in a different state for a completely different reason than we’re used to?’ Normally, we’re on a stage, you can barely see the crowd, and you know you’re going to get judges’ critiques back. But this is a completely different scenario,” said Trei.
The routine will be a hip-hop dance routine styled after hip-hop artist Doechii
The performance is happening at the Timberwolves game next Thursday, January 22.
You can watch the performance on streaming platforms during the game’s halftime.
