During pregame warmups, Brooks noticed a young fan near the court wearing a Phoenix Mercury hoodie and holding a sign, stopping to interact with her. The two challenged each other to a quick game of rock, paper and scissors.
After the playful exchange, Brooks surprised the fan by gifting her a pair of his sneakers, turning a small moment into a lasting memory.

The interaction wasn’t captured on the broadcast and won’t appear on any stat sheet. But for Suns fans who have embraced the “Villain” since he arrived in the Valley, the gesture resonated. Brooks’ on-court demeanor is a key part of his identity, yet moments like this reveal another side — one that connects deeply with fans.

Embracing a young supporter far from home also signaled that Brooks has embraced the Phoenix faithful in return.
While the Suns continue their road trip, Brooks’ pregame interaction serves as a reminder of how deeply passion and connection can run in the NBA.
