Philadelphia 76ers rookie Johni Broome set a new career high in scoring in the G League, leading the Delaware Blue Coats to a road win over the College Park Skyhawks.
Broome finished with 50 points, 17 rebounds, five assists, two blocked shots and one steal in the 155-140 win at the Gateway Center Arena on Friday. He shot 18-of-34 from the field, including 5-of-7 from 3-point range, and was a plus-14 in 38 minutes on the court.
The 35th pick is the first player to score 50 points in a game this season in the G League and the first since David Jones García had 50 on March 23. He scored 25 points in both halves to help the Blue Coats snap a two-game losing streak.
Broome has played sparingly this season with the Sixers, totaling 40 minutes across seven appearances for coach Nick Nurse. He has logged more than 10 minutes in a game once, recording four points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals on Nov. 25 in a loss to the Orlando Magic.
The 23-year-old is averaging 22.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.5 blocks while shooting 48.3% from the field in 19 games with the Blue Coats. He has scored at least 30 points five times, including a 32-point, 14-rebound effort on Dec. 21.

Broome has spent most of the season in the G League as part of his development plan with the organization. He was highly touted as an All-American out of Auburn and showed precisely why on Friday after an electric performance with the Blue Coats.
