Bryan Armetta breaks down Tuesday’s seven-game featured NBA slate to find three undervalued players to slot into your lineups.
It’s a seven-game, 14-team featured NBA DFS slate on Tuesday. That means fantasy managers will have several enticing options to choose from when building their lineups tonight. High-priced names such as Luka Doncic, Victor Wembanyama, and James Harden will all be taking the floor.
Still, superstars can take up a large portion of your budget. To balance out those lineups, some under the radar picks are needed. Which slept-on players should you be targeting on Tuesday? Here are three options to consider in DFS and season-long fantasy formats.

PG/SG Malik Monk, Sacramento Kings vs. MIA ($4,800)
The Kings have been playing inspired basketball as of late, winning four of their last five games. They’ve done so despite inconsistent contributions from Malik Monk. The score-first guard has seen his workload vary from 16 to 32 minutes during this recent stretch. However, he just notched a 23-point showing on Sunday vs. Portland. This season, the 27-year-old is averaging 11.9 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game (20.3 FPTS). That includes solid 44/41/85 shooting splits.
Monk’s inconsistency makes him one of the association’s ultimate boom-or-bust fantasy options. However, Tuesday’s matchup has him positioned for success. The Heat are giving up the eighth-most fantasy points per game to opposing shooting guards. That’s due in large part to their league-leading 104.1 pace on offense. Monk, if nothing else, has enjoyed a career-best season from beyond the arc. In comparison, Miami has allowed the NBA’s ninth-most three-pointers made per game (14.0). Add it all up, and Sacramento’s microwave scorer could make his presence felt quickly tonight.
PG Davion Mitchell, Miami Heat at SAC ($4,700)
We’ll stay in SacTown, where the Heat are hoping to bounce back on the second leg of a back-to-back. Tyler Herro (ribs) remains sidelined, leaving Miami without its best offensive weapon. As a result, more minutes are due for the rest of this backcourt. Since being acquired last trade deadline, Davion Mitchell has impressed in South Beach. This season, the two-way guard has posted 9.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game (25.7 FPTS). On defense, he’s chipped in with 1.2 steals as well.
Mitchell, despite his limitations as a scorer, is still an all-around force. Look no further than Monday’s game against the Warriors. He only tallied seven points on one-of-six shooting, but added six rebounds, three assists and three steals (26.5 FPTS). Tonight, Miami takes on a Kings club giving up the fourth-most points per game (120.5). In addition, Sacramento has surrendered the 11th-most fantasy points to opposing point guards. Mitchell’s relatively safe floor makes him a potential steal at just $4,700.
C Joan Beringer, Minnesota Timberwolves at UTA ($4,500)
There’s a good chance Naz Reid (shoulder) sits out on Tuesday for Minnesota. A title-contending Timberwolves squad has no reason to push one of their best players in January. It helps that the front office made an effort to improve their depth down low last summer. Joan Beringer was selected with the 17th overall pick during the 2025 NBA Draft. So far, the rookie hasn’t had much playing time in the pros. Through 17 games, he’s accounted for 3.1 points and 2.1 rebounds (7.2 FPTS).
With that being said, Beringer’s role is gradually beginning to increase. The Frenchman has logged at least 23 minutes in two of his previous three appearances. On Saturday vs. the Spurs, he delivered ten points, eight rebounds and three assists (28 FPTS). The youngster now enjoys a far more promising matchup this evening. The Jazz are giving up the most points (127.5) and 12th-most rebounds (53.9) per game to opponents. In addition, Utah could be without leading scorer Lauri Markkanen (illness). If this one becomes a blowout, the Timberwolves will likely pull starting center Rudy Gobert ($6,600). That would open up even more playing time for the rest of Minnesota’s frontcourt. Beringer is an ideal low-cost selection at center tonight.
