Grizzlies guard Ty Jerome is likely within one or two weeks of making his Memphis debut, coach Tuomas Iisalo said Jan. 23.
Jerome signed with the Grizzlies in the offseason but suffered a calf strain in the preseason. The team initially said he would be reevaluated in four weeks, but after that said he would return in 6 to 9 weeks. He’s currently at the end of that timeline.

“He’s already progressed to five on five live,” Iisalo said. “So we’re very close. I think the evaluation is somewhere within one or two weeks, something like this. He still needs to build a little bit of load before the actual games. But he’s doing great. He’s progressing really well and in high spirits.”
Jerome averaged 12.5 points and 3.4 assists per game for the Cleveland Cavaliers last season. He was supposed to bring a much-needed scoring punch to a Grizzlies team that had just traded Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic.
The Grizzlies have had terrible injury luck over the past few seasons, and that’s continued in 2025-26. Scotty Pippen Jr. has also been out for the entire season but could return in February. Zach Edey has played in only 11 games and is currently out with an ankle injury. Brandon Clarke has played in only two games and is currently out with a calf strain.
Ja Morant has been in and out of the lineup and is out for the game against the Pelicans on Jan. 23 (7 p.m., FanDuel Sports Network) with an elbow injury.
