The G League’s OKC Blue picked up a close 113-109 win over the San Diego Clippers on Friday. The road victory improved its record to 3-11 in the regular season.

It was a close game throughout. Both had a double-digit lead with neither more than 16 points. The Blue were in a 29-28 deficit after the first quarter. They rebounded in the second frame with a 33-point explosion, though, to take control.

The Blue entered halftime with a 61-49 lead. After the break, the Clippers slowly chipped away. OKC only had 22 points in the third frame as the offense came back down a little. It only had an 83-76 lead after the quarter.

It didn’t really get any closer from that point on. The Blue stiff-armed San Diego with 30 points in the final frame. That was enough to barely escape with the badly-needed win with a short-handed roster.

The Blue shot 48% from the field and went 13-of-29 (44.8%) from 3. They shot 11-of-16 on free throws. They had 24 assists on 42 baskets. Four Blue players scored double-digit points.
