The Philadelphia 76ers needed to make a move on Saturday night as they were at risk of losing Dominick Barlow and Jabari Walker as their two-way days had expired on Saturday. The Sixers had an open roster spot open, and due to the “Under 15 Rule”, they could only have two-way players active for a combined 90 games.

The Sixers fixed that on Saturday night by bringing in Charles Bassey on a 10-day deal to fill that 15th and final roster spot. Bassey, the No. 53 overall pick by the Sixers back in 2021, played 90 games for the San Antonio Spurs the previous two seasons and two games with the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2025-26 season.

Bassey has career averages of 4.3 points and 4.3 rebounds along with 0.9 blocks per game. He played in moments for the Sixers as a rookie in 2021-22 and one has to wonder if he will be able to earn more opportunity for Philadelphia in the future.
