Lakers at Cavaliers picks and predictionsPrediction
Cavaliers 119, Lakers 116
BET CAVALIERS (-155).
Cleveland is the more complete team on both sides of the ball, and after having won 7 of their last 10 games, the Cavs are also the much hotter team. The Cavaliers are also 4-2 in their last 6 meetings with the Lakers, including winning each of the last 2 matchups.
The Lakers cannot consistently beat good teams, and even with so many injuries, the Cavaliers will still prove to be in a different class than L.A. here.
LEAN LAKERS +3.5 (-120).
The Lakers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games and are 24-20-1 ATS this season, much better than Cleveland’s 18-30 mark.
With both Garland and Mobley out, the Cavs will be missing 2 of their best 3 players offensively and their best defensive player. Look for Mitchell to score a lot, but look for Doncic to match that scoring, which will be enough for the Lakers to cover here.
This is a lean because the Lakers are terrible defensively, sitting at 25th in defensive rating and 18th in opponent points per game, so the Cavs could make this one a blowout behind an explosive scoring night from Mitchell.
LEAN OVER 234.5 (-110).
The Over has hit in 5 of LA’s last 9 games and is 26-19 for the Lakers this season. For Cleveland, the Over is 2-1 in its last 3 home games. The Over has also hit in 3 of the last 4 matchups between these squads.
With Mobley out and very few good perimeter defenders on either team, look for this to be an offensive clash rather than a defensive battle.
This is a very slight lean as the O/U is 5-5 in both Cleveland and LA’s last 10 games overall and in their last 10 matchups against each other.
