The Jayson Tatum injury was the best thing that could have happened to the Boston Celtics. Or at least that is the point of view of the folks behind the “Real GM Radio” YouTube channel, who put together a clip about this (at least on its surface) slightly unhinged take.
Clearly, the pain and anguish Tatum and his teammates went through was in no way a good thing. But the intellectual authors of this clip make the case that Boston needed to rebuild, and the Achilles injury to the St. Louis native provided the perfect cover for the new ownership group to do it.
