Skip Bayless compares Bronny James and LeBron James after Cleveland loss
Skip Bayless reacted on X following the Los Angeles Lakers’ 30-point loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavaliers played without Evan Mobley, Darius Garland, and Max Strus.
He suggested that Bronny James’ late-game cameo was enough to outshine LeBron James’ poor 11-point performance.
“Bronny just outplayed his dad in Cleveland! But Lakers lose by 30, worst loss of the season, even though Cavs were without Mobley, Garland, and Strus.”
Bayless is known to be critical, even over-the-top when it comes to his analysis of LeBron James. This is just the latest in a long line of absurd comments the former ESPN and Fox Sports analyst has made.
Game statistics undermine Skip Bayless claim
LeBron James played 27 minutes and finished with 11 points on 3-10 shooting, including 0-3 from three-point range. He also recorded three rebounds, five assists, one steal, and six turnovers.
Bronny James appeared for eight minutes and scored eight points on 3-3 shooting, including 2-2 from three-point range. He added two rebounds, one assist, one steal, and committed no turnovers.
The comparison has been criticised due to the limited minutes and differing roles each player held during the game.
Many see this as Bayless using Bronny’s brief outburst late in the game to undermine LeBron James, something he has, in the eyes of many, built his career off of doing.
