Former NBA star gets candid about the completely wrong perspective on Minnesota Timberwolves star Julius Randle.
After spending five seasons with the New York Knicks, star forward Julius Randle was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves last summer.
Although Randle gave it his all in New York, the organization moved on from him as many believed that the 3x NBA All-Star was a playoff dropper.
However, in his first season with the Timberwolves, Randle has proved his critics wrong as he has been instrumental to the team’s success so far in the playoffs.

Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade has donned a new hat during the 2025 NBA Playoffs. The 3x NBA champion is analyzing games from the postseason on his podcast.
Speaking of which, D-Wade recently shared his two cents on the common perspective around Randle and how he has changed it.
“Julius Randle is somebody that people like to s___ on. They want to throw Julius Randle away. They thought that when he went to Minnesota, they threw him away,” Wade said, via WYNetwork.
“Now he’s here. And I love the fact that he’s getting the chance to shine. The empowerment of everything around Julius, and it’s allowed Julius Randle just to be him,” he added.
The 2025 playoffs are just the third time that fans are seeing Randle in the playoffs, but the 30-year-old is seemingly on a mission.
Julius Randle’s 2025 playoffs
For the first time since the 2019-20 NBA season, Randle averaged below 20.0 points per game during the regular season.
However, it had more to do with head coach Chris Finch taking his time to figure out the perfect role for Randle than his inability to play well.
But it was enough to create a perception around the former seventh overall pick. Well, it didn’t take long for Randle to dismiss that narrative, thanks to his incredible run in the 2025 playoffs.
For context, Randle has played 13 games for the T-Wolves where he has averaged 22.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game for the team.
Sure, there have been a few hiccups along the way, but overall, Randle has been crucial to the Timberwolves’ success and the organization needs him to potentially represent the West in the 2025 NBA Finals.
