The NBA announced two significant changes to the Mavericks’ schedule on Thursday.

Dallas’ postponed road game against the Milwaukee Bucks, originally scheduled for Sunday evening, has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 31 at 7 p.m.

The Mavericks planned to play the Bucks on the second night of a back-to-back following Saturday’s loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. However, they were unable to fly out of Dallas Love Field late Saturday and the majority of Sunday because the winter storm’s freezing temperatures prevented their plane from being properly de-iced.

The league also announced a change for one of Dallas’ meetings with the Grizzlies in Memphis. A Mavericks-Grizzlies game originally scheduled for Wednesday, April 1 will now take place on Thursday, March 12. Tip-off for that game is set for 7 p.m.

Memphis also had one of its games against the Denver Nuggets postponed due to the winter weather.

There are a few downsides to the sudden shift in the Mavericks’ schedule.

Instead of a five-game trip east coast trip in March that spanned nine days, the Mavericks will now be on the road for 11 days because of the newly-added Grizzlies game. Additionally, that game will serve as the front-end of a road-home back-to-back since the Cleveland Cavaliers visit American Airlines Center on March 13.

They will have just one day between that game before back-to-back games on the road in Cleveland and New Orleans on March 15 and 16, respectively.

The Bucks game is the backend of a home-road back-to-back since Dallas will host the Timberwolves on March 30.

The Mavericks entered the season tied with 14 other teams in the NBA for the most games on consecutive days with 16. They now have 18 and a bevy of road games down the stretch of the season.
