Philadelphia 76ers rookie VJ Edgecombe is reportedly considered off-limits in potential discussions ahead of the trade deadline on Feb. 5, according to Kyle Neubeck of PHLY Sports.

The Sixers are currently in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, after amassing a 26-21 record over the first half of the season. The group is relatively healthy, with Joel Embiid and Paul back in the lineup, and could look to add some help for the stretch run.

76ers president Daryl Morey is often active at the trade deadline, and may be inclined to make a move or two over the next week. However, Edgecombe is considered a franchise cornerstone and will almost certainly be excluded from any package.

Edgecombe is one of 10 rookies named to the Rising Stars Game, averaging 15.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.5 steals while shooting 36.9% from 3-point range. He is third in rookie scoring and one of five first-year players to score at least 30 points in a game this season.

The 20-year-old is affecting games at a high level, leading the league in loose-balls recovered (54) and ranking seventh among rookies in contested shots (190). He is also one of three rookies to score at least 20 points in four straight games this season.
