The Minnesota Timberwolves will take on the Oklahoma City Thunder for Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals tonight. The Timberwolves managed to survive and dominate the Thunder, defending their home court. Meanwhile, the Thunder were a shell of themselves, turning the ball over and looked like a team that is vulnerable, as we seen them be at times. However, the Thunder have a good chance tonight to take a commanding 3-1 lead over the Timberwolves, and close out the series in Game 5 at Oklahoma. So the question to be asked is, can the Timberwolves put on another dominating show tonight, and tie the series, or will the Thunder jump out to a 3-1 lead? Let’s find out more.

Oklahoma City Thunder’s Outlook

The Oklahoma City Thunder were a shell of their themselves in Game 3, as they did not come out with the same urgency that we saw them do in games 1 and 2. The Thunder were heavily outclassed, and we saw how vulnerable they could be in terms of their offense, if Shai Gilgeous Alexander has a bad game for himself. Nobody on the Thunder scored more than 15 points in Game 3 and they turned the ball over 14 times to Minnesota’s 10. The Thunder also lost the battle inside the paint as they allowed 56 points inside. They rebounded the ball poorly, shot only 31.8 percent from the 3-point arc, and shot a horrible 40.7 percent from the field.

The Thunder need to win Game 4 tonight, as they will have a commanding 3-1 lead, which only a few selects teams have come back from in the playoffs. If not, the Timberwolves will tie the series at 2-2, and this momentum could switch in favor of the Timberwolves.

Minnesota Timberwolves’ Outlook

The Timberwolves came up with a sense of urgency in Game 3, knowing that going down 3-0 to the Thunder, practically meant that the series was over. Their star, Anthony Edwards, led the team and they came out with vengeance, scoring 34 points in the first quarter, outscoring the Thunder by 20 points. They shot the ball extremely well, and knocked down 20 three pointers, shooting 50 percent from beyond the arc. Julius Randle also had a bounce back game, as we saw him drop 24 points and talk to his home crowd, hyping the fans up. Coach Finch did a great job mixing it up, with various players coming off the bench, including Terrence Shannon Jr.’s 15 points, Leonard Miller’s 11, which the Thunder had no answers for, as the two new additions to the Timberwolves playoff rotation was likely not listed on the scouting report.

However, the Timberwolves are still in a must-win situation tonight, as they are still down in this series. While we do not expect them to shoot the way they did in Game 3, the Wolves need to still play similarly the way they did, to come back and make this a series again at 2-2.
