Over the last 12 years, there was a sweep in the conference finals six times. It won’t be happening in these NBA playoffs.

New York — using another 20-point comeback — cut Indiana’s lead in the Eastern Conference finals to 2-1 with a 106-100 win on Sunday night.

Oklahoma City leads Minnesota 2-1 in the Western Conference finals, with Game 4 in Minneapolis on Monday night.

“Pacers and Racers” they call it. The Indy 500 in the afternoon, followed by a Pacers home game at night.

It’s a great day in Indianapolis.

It just never works out for the basketball team.

Sunday marked the fourth time the Indy 500 and a Pacers game fell on the same day … and the Pacers are now 0-4 on those days, losing Sunday to go along with losses in 1999, 2004 and 2013.

The Knicks — again — added to the list in Game 3 of the East finals.

There have been six wins by teams that trailed by 20 points or more so far in these playoffs. That’s the most in any postseason during the play-by-play era, which started with the 1997 playoffs.

The biggest deficits that were successfully overcome:

29 — Oklahoma City at Memphis, April 24 (Thunder won 114-108)

20 — Indiana vs. Milwaukee, April 29 (Pacers won 119-118)

20 — New York at Boston, May 5 (Knicks won 108-105)

20 — Indiana at Cleveland, May 6 (Pacers won 120-119)

20 — New York at Boston, May 7 (Knicks won 91-90)

20 — New York at Indiana, May 25 (Knicks won 106-100)

Indiana has pulled off three last-minute rallies from at least seven points down to win in these playoffs:

— April 29: Trailed Milwaukee 118-111 with 34.6 seconds left in overtime, won 119-118.

— May 6: Trailed Cleveland 119-112 with 48 seconds left, won 120-119.

— May 21: Trailed New York 121-112 with 51.1 seconds left in regulation, won 138-135 in overtime.

— The Pacers are 0-3 in Game 3s in these playoffs. They’re 10-0 in all other games (3-0 in Game 1s and Game 2s, 2-0 in Game 4s and Game 5s).

— The Knicks have won three road games after trailing by 20 points in these playoffs alone. That matches the total number of 20-point road comebacks that they’ve had in the last 11 regular seasons combined.

— There have been two instances of a player having a 20-point fourth quarter in these playoffs. Aaron Nesmith had one for Indiana at New York on Wednesday to lead a comeback win — and Karl-Anthony Towns had one for New York at Indiana on Sunday to lead a comeback win.

— Tyrese Haliburton scored 20 points for Indiana on Sunday in the loss to the Knicks. The Pacers were 25-1 in the last 26 instances of Haliburton scoring 20 before Sunday, and they had been 18-0 when he does it at home since Oct. 27.

“People think, ‘Oh, I want a low-scoring game.’ No, I just want one more point than they have. I don’t care if it’s low-scoring, high-scoring, medium-scoring. I just want to win.” — New York coach Tom Thibodeau.
