The Oklahoma City Thunder will travel on the road to face the Denver Nuggets on Sunday. This will be the first matchup of the season between the two squads.
The Thunder (38-11) are in a funk. They dropped a 123-111 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 30 points and eight assists, but the rest of the team couldn’t do much.
Meanwhile, the Nuggets (33-16) rode momentum into their 122-109 win over the LA Clippers. After a month-long absence, Nikola Jokic returned. He finished with 31 points, 12 rebounds and five assists.
The Thunder continue to be short-handed. Jalen Williams (hamstring strain) is out. Ajay Mitchell (abdominal strain) is out. Alex Caruso (adductor strain) is out. Nikola Topic (testicular surgery) is out. Thomas Sorber (torn ACL) is out.
Same for the Nuggets. Nikola Jokic (knee bone bruise) is probable. Jamal Murray (hamstring, hip inflammation) is probable. Christian Braun (ankle sprain) is doubtful. Aaron Gordon (hamstring strain) is out. Cam Johnson (knee bone bruise) is out. Curtis Jones (G League two-way) is out. Tamar Bates (G League two-way) is out.
