PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Portland Trail Blazers forward Deni Avdija has been named as 2026 NBA All-Star, marking the first All-Star selection of his career.

The NBA announced Avdija’s selection today, highlighting his impressive performance this season.

Avdija is averaging 25.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game, making him one of only three players in the league to average over 25 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds per game.

He ranks 11th in total points and 13th in total assists across the NBA.

Avdija has recorded 21 games with at least 25 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, the third most in the league and the highest by a Trail Blazer since the 2018-19 season. He becomes the 17th player in franchise history to receive All-Star honors and the first since Damian Lillard in 2023.

The Western Conference starters for the All-Star Game include Stephen Curry, Luka Doni, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Joki, and Victor Wembanyama.

Avdija joins reserves Anthony Edwards, Jamal Murray, Chet Holmgren, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and LeBron James.
