After besting the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night, the Philadelphia 76ers will be back in action against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night.
Star center Joel Embiid tallied 24 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists in 32 minutes against the Clippers. Unfortunately, since he played in the first night of the back-to-back, it means he won’t be playing in the second night.
Joel Embiid ruled out vs. Warriors on second night of back-to-back
Embiid has been officially ruled out of the game against Golden State due to right ankle and knee injury management.Â
On the season, Embiid has played in 29 games and is averaging 26.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.1 blocks per performance.Â
In addition to Embiid, the Sixers will also be without star forward Paul George, who will be missing the third game of a 25-game suspension for violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program.
Meanwhile, the Warriors will also be shorthanded, as star guard Steph Curry has also been ruled out of the game with a knee injury. Golden State is already down Jimmy Butler, who will miss the rest of the season with an ACL tear.Â
Given all of these absences, the matchup between Philadelphia and Golden State could end up being a war of attrition. Given their respective roster depth, that should favor Philadelphia.Â
It will be the second and final meeting of the season between the two teams. The Sixers previously bested the Warriors, 99-98, back on Dec. 4.Â
