The Knicks chase their ninth straight win on Friday and enter as one of the NBA’s hottest teams, which comes on the heels of a rough patch, where they kicked off the new year with a run of nine losses in 11 games. New York has toppled a number of playoff contenders over its current streak, including a double-overtime victory over the Denver Nuggets (134-127) Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden. Brunson went for 42 points, nine assists and eight rebounds as the Knicks improved to 33-18, good for the No. 2 spot in the East and tied with the Boston Celtics atop the Atlantic Division.

Detroit sets out to bounce back from one of its worst losses of the season on the front end of a back-to-back Thursday night, falling to the Washington Wizards (126-117) at home after the Wiz shot 54% from the floor.
