Giannis Antetokounmpo was at the center of this year’s NBA trade deadline.

The 31-year-old two-time MVP and the Milwaukee Bucks reportedly were open to parting ways, which wasn’t surprising considering Milwaukee hasn’t fielded a competitive roster around Antetokounmpo in years.

The Golden State Warriors, who lost Jimmy Butler in January due to a torn ACL, were considered a viable landing spot for the 10-time All-Star toward the end of the trade season.

The Dubs failed to land Antetokounmpo, though, as they opted to acquire Kristaps Porzingis in a trade shipping Buddy Hield and Jonathan Kuminga to the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night.

Shortly after Golden State’s whiff on Antetokounmpo, Stephen Curry sent a nine-word message to the Warriors that should help put the franchise and its fan base at ease.

“At the end of the day, nobody got him,” the future Hall of Fame point guard told ESPN’s Anthony Slater on Friday.

The Warriors should adopt Curry’s rational mindset on missing out on Antetokounmpo. When it comes down to it, no team won the Antetokounmpo sweepstakes this season, potentially resulting in a busy summer.

There’s no reason for the Warriors to come down too hard on themselves with every other suitor striking out and the seven-time NBA champions adding a 7-foot-2 unicorn center to the fold to assist Curry moving forward.

It’ll be interesting to see if the Warriors revisit a potential deal for Antetokounmpo come summertime.
